I am pleased to announce the start of a new CSA in Richmond, Virginia for the 2007 growing season.
SPROUT has partnered with Victory Farms of Hanover to bring you the best, freshest, locally grown produce in the region.
Victory Farms is a family-run farm, owned and operated by Charlie Collins. Charlie and his family are recent transplants from Phoenix, Arizona where he had been farming since 1994. With a degree in Botany, he spent years developing methods for growing fine-quality vegetables and herbs for his CSA and the area's finest restaurants. The small, three acre, urban farm was compost-fed and pesticide free; it continues to be self-sustaining to this day.
Similar in size, the Hanover property is compost-fed and free of pesticides. Produce is hand-harvested and tended to daily by Charlie himself. Charlie is dedicated to the beyond organic movement and the CSA model.
SPROUT looks forward to working with Victory Farms to create a new CSA community for the Richmond Metro region. Our all-volunteer, Core group is dedicated to supporting small, local, pesticide-free farming.
The season will start May 19th and continue through mid-October. Applications to become a member will be available to download from our website very soon. We will notify you as soon as it is up. We look forward to your support!
